The honest answer is that our carers come from many different countries and backgrounds, and, like much of the UK care sector, a good number of them were born outside Britain.

• The right to work. Every carer has the legal right to work in the UK, which we verify as a matter of course, as the law requires.
• Thorough background checks. Each carer holds an enhanced DBS check, and we take up references and verify their full work history, asking for any gaps to be explained.
• Proven experience. Our carers bring genuine caregiving experience, and are trained by us to Edyn's own high standards before they begin, with ongoing training throughout.
• Strong English. We require our carers to speak and understand good English, so that communication with your loved one, your family, and health professionals is always clear. We meet every carer in person, at interview and at training, so we can be sure of this first-hand.

These standards apply to everyone, without exception. A carer's background never changes the bar they must meet.
