How Do Payments Work at Edyn?

Once you have decided on care, a very practical question naturally follows: how do the payments actually work? We believe billing should be as clear and straightforward as the care itself, with no confusion and no surprises. Here is exactly how it works at Edyn.

Weekly payments, by card

Payments for care are taken weekly, by card, and processed securely through Stripe, a trusted, industry-leading payments provider. Rather than handing card details to us directly, everything is handled through Stripe's secure system, giving you bank-level security and real peace of mind.

Why weekly, rather than a fixed direct debit

You might wonder why we take weekly card payments rather than setting up a fixed monthly direct debit. The answer comes down to something we think is actually a real advantage: flexibility.

Care is personal, and real life varies from week to week. Some weeks might include an agreed extra, such as the carer doing the grocery shopping, which means the amount due can differ slightly from one week to the next. A fixed direct debit simply could not reflect that. Weekly card payments mean you only ever pay for the care and the agreed costs actually provided that week, accurately and transparently. It keeps everything honest and precise.

Clear and transparent

Because we know how much clarity matters when it comes to money, you can see your regular care payment statements in the edyn online portal, so you can always check exactly what you are paying and why, whenever you like. No guesswork, no hidden charges, just a clear record you can rely on. You can read more about what is included, and any optional extras, in our guide to the cost of live-in care.

If the local authority helps with funding

If your loved one is entitled to funding towards their care from their local council, we can make things simpler still by collecting that portion directly from the local authority. That means less admin for you to manage, and a smoother arrangement where care is part-funded. Our guide to your funding options explains the different ways care can be paid for.

Any questions, just ask

If you ever have a question about your billing, want to understand a particular week's payment, or need help with anything payment-related, our team is always happy to talk it through, clearly and patiently.
